Tartlette: Review

About a month or so ago Tarte released their new Tartlette eye shadow palette and I finally got my hands on it. I only have one other palette from Tarte, the Rainforest After Dark eye and cheek palette, which I am obsessed with and use on a daily basis. It has been my go to palette for a while now so I thought I would try out this new palette. Something I thought was a huge bonus for the Tartlette palette is that all 12 shades are completely matte. I also fell in love with the plum colors it has as well as the neutral browns. I created the cut-crease look shown below using the colors free spirit, natural beauty, best friend, bombshell, and fashionista.

Pigmentation: 9/10
The colors basically swatch the same as what you see in the pan. I will say that some of the lighter colors may need a little more attention when applying. I found myself having to go back in the pan to pick up more of the color to really build it up, but that may be due to the fact that it was so similar to my skin tone.

Longevity: 10/10
I used Urban Decay’s Primer Potion before applying the shadows, and they stayed on all day and were still as vibrant as when I put them on in the morning, even after biking to and from classes.

Application: 10/10
Blending was super easy with these colors. Sometimes I find with certain dark colors you really need to spend a long time blending out harsh lines. When I applied the matte black color fashionista it blended in perfectly with the rest of the colors without even having to blend too much. These colors were really made to blend into each other flawlessly without any struggle.

Packaging: 9/10
I love how simple the packaging is. The mirror is very large which I find is nice to have when traveling. But what is up with the names of the shadows?! "Super Mom"? I understand that they are trying to target a large audience with the way they have advertised the names, but in my opinion it makes the product seem a bit childish.

Overall: 9.5/10
This palette is one of my new favorites. I would definitely recommend this palette to someone who doesn't know how to match eyeshadow colors because any combination of these colors would look gorgeous. It would also be flattering on any skin tone! Personally, I think this is a better version of the Naked 3 palette because I find that in all of the Naked palettes there are colors I just never use, whereas I can see myself using all of the colors in the Tartlette palette.

Keep an eye out on my youtube channel (beautybyjulia) for a tutorial coming very soon!
