Zac Posen Pre-Fall Review

A few posts ago, Savannah talked all about Moschino’s pre-fall line, which we weren't very impressed with. This week however, I decided to write about a line I loved. Two words: Zac Posen. In my mind, Zac can do no wrong and this line was no different. Zac Posen is known for his clean cut, elegant ways that would flatter anyones shape. This pre fall line included many statement evening dresses, jackets, and shirt-skirt combos in a range of warm and cool colors, sure to turn you into a Zac Posen lover as well. Check out my favorite pieces!

Black Widow

Personally, I love the way Zac mixes up the dark black color with these soft airy fabrics. Its a contradiction that suits who ever wears it. The minute I look at the dress, that comes to the knee, I know it would be a blast to wear. Just imagine all the twirling you can do in that! The bottom has some tutu qualities, very Black Swanesque. I am always a fan of fit and flare dresses too like the first one, not to mention I think the peekaboo neckline, which they both share, would also be very flattering to wear.

Cap it Off

Next up is another pair of fit and flair dresses with a satin shine. I favor the magenta color over the orange but the styles are lovely. I see this cape trend everywhere from blazers to dresses alike (Solange Knowles even wore a Kenzo cape dress for her wedding!).I too am in love with it, this piece looks so regal and classy, and it comes in black! As for the orange dress, I am digging the high neck line. Very chic! From the color to the neck/shoulder line it is a very unique dress.

Check Mate

Surrounded by all of these gorgeous dresses this jacket still shines! Lets just talk about the inside color shall we. Zac, you nailed it! The navy blue is so sophisticated it gives the whole jacket a nice polished look. The very subtle navy/grayish checkered print is also perfect for a fall  wardrobe. Easy to dress up and even easier to dress down.

The Show Stopper

I am not kidding when I first saw this dress scrolling through the pre-fall runway slideshow my jaw literally dropped. The fit, the color, the stitching, oh my! I can’t sing enough praise about this dress. This fit and flare, verging on mermaid dress, could not be more flattering. Zac used a lot of navy in this collection and I don’t think any other color would do this dress justice. Katherine Heigl was just scene wearing it at the Golden Globes and she looked stunning. I love love love how the vertical stitching on the bodice simulates the look of a corset while the horizontal stitching mimics the triangle of the flare. All I have left to say is well done Zac, another amazing line under your belt!
